Karren and Jenny are soul sisters and the co-owners of Sacred Earth Extracts, a herbal apothecary grounded in ancestral remembrance and earth wisdom. Karren carries the medicine of her Indigenous roots, and Jenny has been a practicing herbalist since 2010, so every blend they make together brings both of their traditions into your daily care.

Why does the scent last all day?
Tallow acts as an excellent natural fixative for essential oils. Unlike conventional natural perfumery, where aromatic notes can evaporate quickly and require frequent reapplication, our proprietary blend of bison tallow and botanicals holds the essential oils close to the skin, allowing the aroma to unfold slowly. As different notes gradually evaporate, the scent subtly shifts and evolves throughout the day, leaving a rich, lingering aroma that can last from morning into evening.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Bison tallow is similar in composition to the natural oils found in your skin, allowing it to absorb beautifully without feeling heavy. Every product lists its full ingredients, and we offer unscented options for those with sensitive or reactive skin. If you have sensitive skin, we always recommend patch testing products containing essential oils before use.
What makes it different from beef tallow?
Bison tallow is naturally different from beef tallow. Bison are lean animals, and ours are raised on regenerative farms without grain, producing a beautifully pure suet without the characteristic “beefy” scent of beef tallow. Bison have also remained remarkably close to their ancestral genetics, carrying a deep connection to the same animal our ancestors relied upon for nourishment, medicine and everyday life. For us, that cultural significance is at the heart of why we choose bison—and something woven into both the quality and story of our products.
