Sacred Earth Extracts – Sherwood Park, Alberta
In-Person | 10–20 Hours/Week | Paid Position
Sacred Earth Extracts is an Indigenous, women-owned botanical wellness company rooted in ancestral plant medicine and small-batch natural skincare formulation, handcrafted with reverence in Treaty 6 Territory.
The business is currently owned and operated by the co-founders and is home-based in Sherwood Park. We are in an active growth phase and plan to expand into a commercial kitchen in the Sherwood Park area within the near future. Within approximately one year, our goal is to transition into a dedicated warehouse facility in Edmonton.
We are seeking someone who wants to grow with us through this expansion.
This apprenticeship is designed as a structured training pathway into a future Production & Operations Manager role as we scale.
🌿 What You Will Learn
Herbalism & Plant Medicine
• Herbal oil infusions and botanical extraction
• Herb energetics and traditional applications
• Safe handling and storage practices
Botanical Skincare & Natural Formulation
• Tallow-based skincare production
• Aromatherapy blending
• Salves, balms, creams, body oils, and specialty products
• Percentage-based formulation scaling
• Batch documentation and compliance basics
Production & Operational Systems
• Production math and batch recalculations
• Inventory tracking and raw material management
• Packaging precision and labeling systems
• Sanitation standards for cosmetic production
• Developing and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
🌿 Growth & Compensation Pathway
Duration is based on demonstrated competency and overall business growth.
🌱 Stage 1: Herbalism & Production Apprenticeship
Compensation: Alberta Minimum Wage
Duration: Approximately 3–6 months
This is a supervised training phase focused on precision, consistency, and systems.
Beginning in your first week, you may take home Sacred Earth products regularly as part of your learning experience. By completion of training, you will have received a full Sacred Earth product line as a bonus perk.
(This product benefit is separate from wage compensation.)
🌿 Stage 2: Independent Production Lead (Pre-Manager Phase)
Compensation: $20–$23 per hour
This stage begins once you demonstrate:
• Ability to batch independently
• Accurate production math and recalculation skills
• Capacity to identify and correct formulation mistakes
• Reliable documentation
• Consistent quality control
Hours may increase as independence and trust develop.
🌾 Stage 3: Production & Operations Manager
Starting Compensation: $25 per hour minimum
This full-time leadership role includes:
• Overseeing production batches
• Protecting formula integrity
• Managing inventory and supply systems
• Implementing and refining SOPs
• Training future staff
• Supporting transition into commercial and warehouse production
Compensation will grow as responsibilities and company scale increase.

This role involves:
• Standing for extended periods
• Working with oils, herbs, and strong natural aromas
• Lifting ingredient containers weighing 20–40 pounds
Applicants must be comfortable in a hands-on production environment.
🌿 Schedule
Apprenticeship hours are between 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
We are seeking a 10–20 hour per week commitment, Monday through Friday.
Consistency and reliability are essential.
